Desert and Delta Safari

Garcin Safaris offers this fantastic 6 day Safari starting and ending in Maun, covering the Nxai salt pans, the Okavango swamps and the Tsodillo hills in the western Kalahari.

Nxai Pans

Arrive in Maun,to be met by your guide and Set off to Nxai Pan National Park;

  • Day one, depart for Nxai Pan National Park, a picnic lunch will be provided
    en route and a late afternoon Game drive will be available.
  • Day two, Early morning departure for Baines Baobabs and hopefully catch a
    rare glimpse of the Kalahari black maned Lion. Return to camp for brunch and
    then a late afternoon Game drive is available.

Sepupa Swamp Stop

  • Day three, After breakfast, depart for Maun were you would transfer by
    road to the Swamp Stop at Sepupa. This is a 440kms drive, once again a
    picnic lunch en route.
    Swamp Stop Camp is on the banks of the Okavango River in the Pan Handle
    area of the Delta.
  • Day four, Motor boat day trip exploring the waterways of the Okavango,
    perhaps try your luck at catching a Tiger Fish. Lunch will be provided on
    one of the islands.

Tsodilo Hills

................................................Western Kalahari

  • Day five, Day trip to the World heritage site of Tsodilo Hills; a guided tour of the hills looking at the vast rock paintings. The four Tsodilo Hills form a line of sheer quartzite cliff faces. They protrude from the flat barren landscape of the western Kalahari near the panhandle region of the Okavango Delta. The hills have long been associated with spirituality. There are rock paintings on all of the hills, with the best site located at the north end of the female hill.
  • Day six, Return trip to Maun over night at Maun Lodge (dinner bed and breakfast)
  • Day seven, After breakfast depart for your next destination.

The Above Includes:

  • All accommodation: twin bedded chalets in lodges and twin bedded tents on safari.
  • All meals (3 meals a day), teas, coffees, cold drinks (sodas) local beer or wine with evening meal and snacks.
